Yay part 2 :D
We're going to get some big numbers here. Let's take 2 ^ 3. This is repeated multiplication, so it's 2 * 2 * 2. This turns out to be 22 * 2 = 2222. But if we had 2 ^ 5, then it would be 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 = 22 * 2 * 2 * 2 = 2222 * 2 * 2 = a string of sixteen twos. What is interesting here is that if you want to compute A ^ B, you can just make a string of A's that is A^(B-1) (in the normal number system) long. This makes sense because it would be A * A * ... * A, and if you multiply the first two terms, you get a string of A's that is A long. Multiply the next term and you stick that together A times. So it would be a string of A's that is A^2 long. Multiply the n’th A and you get a string of A's that is A^(n-1) (in the normal number system) long. I'm not going to mention tetration in this system, since the numbers would be so big.
Decimals are easy. Just don't try to multiply or divide them. Or add two decimals.
What you can do is add stuff like 4.23 + 17, and get 4.2317. It doesn't really
make sense to add 4.3 + 3.4 in this system. Subtraction is okay. 4.345 - 45 =
4.3. Simple. You can also subtract two decimals sometimes.
423.1762 - 3.1762 = 42
Doing arithmetic on fractions works exactly how you expect.
2222/666666+2/6=22222/6666666
2222/666666-2/6=222/66666
2222/666666*2/6=22222222/666666666666666666666666666666666666
2222/666666 ÷ 2/6=22/6
You can't define fractions by division very well anymore, though. They must be
own numbers I guess. Also, since x/1=x is still true in this number system,
you can do things like this:
1. ?=555/441-55
2. ?=555/441-55/1
3. ?=5/44
Done. You can also sometimes do this where you subtract a fraction
from a whole number.
Parentheses work exactly as expected. With 3 * (2 * 4), you would compute the 2 * 4 first. Factorials are HUGE. 4! = 4 * 3 * 2 * 1 = 444 * 2 = 444444. Don't even get me started on 9 factorial. Negative numbers kind of work. Like, -2 - (-4) = -2 + 4 = -24. You cannot add two negative numbers, and you can't add a negative to a positive, but you can add a positive to a negative. Division and multiplication DO NOT WORK AND ARE BANNED FROM THIS SIDE OF THE NUMBER LINE.
